AP-PX2 Checklist - Postdoctoral Scholar Employment Documentation Checklist Department letter is optional Award letter is required for paid direct or fellows Renewal The reappointment of a Postdoctoral Scholar–Employee (TC 3252) shall be for a minimum of two (2) years; however, reappointment may be for less than two years under the following circumstances: Less than two (2) years of programmatic work Less than two (2) years of funding Exhausted eligibility as a Postdoctoral Scholar as referenced in the current contract, Article 2, section A.3 Work authorization limitations Change in PI Already had a 2 year reappointment The reappointment into the title(s) Postdoctoral Scholar–Fellow (TC 3253) and/or Postdoctoral Scholar–Paid Direct (TC 3254) shall be for a minimum duration equal to the duration of the fellowship or extramural funding. Please complete the UCI-AP-PX1 form for reappointments in the Postdoctoral Scholars Series, along with the UCI-AP-PX3 and CV. Project Scientists Appointment The below AP-30 Checklist provides all required documents for a Project Scientist Appointment. This form should be used to guide all appointments. AP-30 Checklist - Appointment Documentation Checklist (attach UCI AP-30 in Media Assets Folder) Department Letter (required) Renewal An appointment in the Project Scientist series shall normally have a specified ending date and appointment percentage, and the appointment shall terminate on the specified ending date without any further action. All of the appointments leading up to the Project Scientist’s first merit review shall be for a minimum of one-year terms, provided that there is work, programmatic need, and appropriate funding. For more information, refer to the current Academic Researcher Unit contract, Article 22 – Project Scientist Series, C - Term of Appointment, 1 (a & b). Please use the UCI-AP-RA1 form for renewal of an appointment in the Project Scientist series which is in the Academic Research Unit (ARU). If an appointee in the Project Scientist Series undergoes a review and their notice states normative time (2-3 years), there is no longer a need to submit notice for “renewal.” Please use the UCI-AP-21 form for renewal of an appointment in the Project Scientist series which is NOT in the Academic Research Unit (ARU).
