The UCI School of Medicine seeks to admit students who are highly qualified to be trained in the practice of medicine and in a wide variety of fields in both basic science and clinical research. Ideal candidates are those whose backgrounds, talents and experiences contribute to our diverse student body.

The UCI School of Medicine offers various programs that allow our medical students to earn concurrent degrees and tailor their studies to particular career interests and goals.

The number one qualification for aspiring PRIME-LC students is a dedication to serve the Latino community during their career. All PRIME-LC students have experience with health disparities, often at a personal level.

Leadership Education to Advance Diversity - African, Black and Caribbean (LEAD-ABC)

LEAD-ABC is the first medical school program of its kind in the nation that addresses the unique health needs of Black, African and Caribbean islander communities. Students with demonstrated service, leadership and commitment to addressing the health and social needs of African, Black and Caribbean communities will be most competitive for admission into this program. Scholarships are available for students enrolled in the program.

Health Education to Advance Leaders in Integrative Medicine (HEAL-IM)

The HEAL-IM Program seeks to attract UCI medical students who are interested in learning more about the philosophy and concepts of whole person care in order to become a part of the growing community of mentors and leaders advancing innovations in integrative health.

HEAL-IM Admissions Information

The UCI School of Medicine offers graduate study in basic science and clinical departments. Our PhD and MS programs train students in biomedical research and critical inquiry with the goal of a career in research, biomedical technology or academic education.
