The UCI School of Medicine is ranked as one of the top 50 U.S. medical schools for research by U.S. News & World Report.
Our faculty is made up of more than 1900 full-and -part-time and volunteer faculty, who are involved in teaching, providing medical care and conducting research into the health challenges facing the 21st century.
The school has 24 departments ranging from basic science research to clinical medical and surgical specialties. The school also maintains research, clinical and teaching relationships with the VA Long Beach Healthcare System, CHOC Children's Hospital and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
Message from the Vice Dean of Medical Education
The Office of Medical Education provides leadership and oversight for Undergraduate Medical Education, Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Medical Education. We proudly train more than 500 students and 750 residents and fellows each year.
Match Day 2024
Match Day is a national event, held each year in March. It is an exciting time when graduating medical students learn where they will go to do their residency training. Students, their families and friends from across the country share in this day of celebration!

2024 White Coat Ceremony
The ceremony signifies the beginning of medical students' journey to achieve the long white coat they wear as physicians. It also symbolizes professionalism, caring and trust, which they must earn from patients. Join us in welcoming our new class of future doctors.
