Research

Innovation and discovery form the basis of our mission at the UCI School of Medicine: Discover. Teach. Heal. Our faculty, staff and students are immersed in research activities that span basic science, translational and clinical areas.

The UCI School of Medicine is part of a comprehensive academic health system working to redefine the boundaries of patient care. Our research mission is to advance basic, clinical and translational research that addresses complex problems, spanning from unraveling fundamental biological and pathobiological processes to designing novel therapeutics, diagnostics and analytics. Our ultimate goal is to develop safe and effective disease prevention strategies, treatments, and cures for patients.
