About Us

The Office of Academic Affairs is the headquarters for Faculty and Academic Personnel matters in the UCI School of Medicine. This includes the recruitment and appointment of diverse and talented faculty, merit and promotion review, and faculty development and mentoring programs.

Academic Affairs is here to support faculty and staff and to provide policy analysis, interpretation, and training in academic personnel actions. Through collaboration and guidance, we hope to aid faculty in achieving the full potential of the School of Medicine’s “Discover, Teach, Heal” mission. Our office also oversees faculty diversity programs, sabbatical leaves, applications for special medical permits, employee and labor relations, and volunteer faculty administration.
