The Department of Medicine’s education and training programs include medical student clerkships and residency training, as well as fellowship specialty training within our divisions.

Hospital Medicine Program

Founded in 1998, the UCI School of Medicine's Hospitalist Program is one of the nation's first. It focuses on clinical care, education, improvement in quality of care and patient safety in the hospital environment.

Continuing Medical Education

The Department of Medicine holds regularly scheduled Grand Rounds on Zoom each Tuesday at 12 p.m. (with Morbidity and Mortality meetings interspersed on a monthly basis). In addition, its divisions also host their own Grand Rounds, as well as lectures, journal clubs and seminars.
