UC Irvine School of Medicine is committed to the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), which denotes good citizenship in research conduct. Faculty, students and staff who report their work honestly, accurately and objectively promote public trust in research and model ethical research practices for future generations of scholars. Federal research sponsors have implemented regulations requiring that training in the RCR is provided to study personnel as a condition of certain awards, although it is expected that robust training in RCR should routinely be provided to all students, postdoctoral scholars and research personnel regardless of the funding source.
