UC Irvine offers biostatistical support in numerous ways. Planning Your Research & Evaluating Your Data Cancer Related Research If you are conducting research related to cancer, contact the Biostatistics Shared Resource (BSR), a resource provided by the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. Contact BSR Non-cancer Related Research If you are conducting research that is not related to cancer, contact the Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD). The first hour of consulting at BERD is free. Submit a Request to BERD Dr. Joni Ricks-Oddie serves as the director for both the BERD and the Center for Statistical Consulting (CSC), ensuring communication and continuity between these facilities. Your request will be routed to the most appropriate team. Conducting Analyses & Training UC Irvine Center for Statistical Consulting Workshops This is where the recordings and documentation of workshops (Stata, etc) are posted. Statistical Software and Computing Resources UC Irvine Office of Technology provides access to statistical software packages such as MATLAB and SPSS through campus licenses or computer labs. Additionally, computing resources, including high-performance computing clusters, may be available to support computationally intensive analyses in biostatistics research. UC Irvine Libraries Resources The UC Irvine Libraries provide access to a wide range of software for data analysis and online resources. SOM-ICTS Master of Science in Biomedical and Translational Science Program (MS-BATS) Includes courses on medical statistics. UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education DCE offers a wide range of courses. Current UC Irvine faculty and staff may be eligible to receive a 50% discount on course fees on a space-available basis.
