Our core genetics faculty include more than 20 MD or MD/PhD geneticists and genetic counselors. We also have several affiliated faculty geneticists in metabolic genetics at Children’s Hospital of Orange County near UCI Medical Center and in molecular genetics at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Because we have only one or two residents in genetics, they train directly with genetics faculty in clinics and inpatient consultations and receive a considerable amount of one-on-one teaching as they progress toward independent practice. Residents also have the opportunity to interact with a large number of trainees in pediatrics, obstetrics and other specialties, and with our graduate students in genetic counseling.
