Emergency Medicine Education and Training
The UC Irvine School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine oversees an extensive emergency medicine education program. Each year, we train more than 100 medical students, 27 residents and around 10 fellows.
We have a stellar history of training top-notch physicians, many of whom now work within the department as faculty. We can do this because more than half of our core faculty have advanced degrees in education, public health and business, ensuring students learn from leaders in the field of medical education. We are proud to be a consistent leader in academics, research and operations for our hospital and our specialty.

The department offer opportunities for growth and development through our clerkship and scholarship programs.
