ZotUnity is a comprehensive career advising, academic content support and wellness program developed to address the unique challenges faced by all UCI School of Medicine medical students. Organized by our seven faculty career advisors, students are sorted into houses alongside 60 - 80 students from all academic levels of undergraduate medical education.
One of the key components of ZotUnity is the focus on embedding our robust peer tutoring program, ZotUnity Academics, into each house for tailored academic support. Specifically, each house has their own set of dedicated tutors who will remain throughout the academic year. Additionally, each house is led by a faculty career advisor and upper class-standing students. The faculty career advisor provides ongoing career advising support to their assigned students from their first day of medical school, whereas the student leadership team is responsible for helping to oversee the wellness and academic content support of their housemates throughout the year.
ZotUnity fosters a sense of community among medical students by facilitating mentorship and networking opportunities. Students have the opportunity to connect with their peers and career advisors through organized events, which are fully funded by an annual budget per house.
The ZotUnity Mission
ZotUnity's mission is to create a thriving and inclusive medical school community, emphasizing collaboration, wellness and academic support. Through hands-on guidance, we empower future physicians to excel together, fostering a sense of belonging and community that builds lifelong connections while equipping them with the skills necessary for personal, academic and professional success.

ZotUnity is divided into 6 houses that are themed according to a figure in medicine. All medical students, MS1-MS4, will become part of one of the houses: Vulcan, Panacea, Sekhmet, Artemis, Lonophua and Apollo. There will be structured academic support within each house and monthly house bonding activities. Each house consists of a house director, assistant house director, CLC tutors and students.
