This is a two-year program that is fully accredited by the ACGME. We accept four fellows per year, beginning in PGY-4 or PGY-5. For the research/clinical track, we accept one fellow. We participate in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) for both tracks. Applications should be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Supporting documents should be submitted through ERAS Fellowships Documents Office (EFDO). Please also register with the NRMP in addition to using ERAS. It is required that applicants have an active California Medical License before entering any California fellowship program. Learn more about obtaining a California Medical License. Application Materials Please upload the following documents to ERAS no later than October of each year: Curriculum Vitae Curriculum vitae that includes employment history, professional experience, academic achievements, honors, awards, distinctions, scholarship or fellowship, leadership activities in school and community, creative projects, membership in professional societies and civic organizations, etc. Personal Statement Personal statement that includes background about yourself, reasons for choosing child and adolescent psychiatry, career goals, special areas of interest in psychiatry, etc. USMLE/COMLEX Scores Request the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) transmit reports of your USMLE Step 1, 2 (CK and CS) and 3 scores. If applicable, COMLEX scores are also accepted. Dean's Letter & Transcripts Request that your medical school upload a copy of your dean’s letter (MSPE) and transcripts to ERAS (must come directly from your medical school). Training Documentation Request that your training director(s) in general psychiatry upload a letter describing your general psychiatry performance and complete a training documentation form. Letters of Recommendation Request at least three letters of recommendation from direct supervising physicians to be uploaded using the ERAS Letter of Recommendation portal (LoRP). One of those letters may be from your training director referenced under the Training Documentation item. Photograph A recent photograph of yourself.
