Integrating Research, Education and Care

The UCI Department of Family Medicine provides comprehensive clinical care throughout the lifespan. Our faculty members boast expertise in a range of primary care and family medicine specialties, including women’s health, reproductive services, preventive health care, prenatal care and labor/delivery.

We also have expertise in managing chronic conditions, including asthma, diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia.

The department serves a diverse population in Orange County, with a particular interest in social determinants of health, care of underserved communities and LGBTQ+ health.

Sports Medicine Specialty

The faculty in our sports medicine specialty are dedicated to caring for athletes of all levels. Our experts provide treatment for a range of sports-related conditions, including concussions, fractures, soft tissue injuries and arthritis, and serve as event physicians for a range of sporting events throughout Southern California. Our practices incorporate many of the latest technologies, including platelet-rich plasma. We also have a strong focus on injury prevention and athlete wellness, including nutrition services.
