The longitudinal curriculum is designed to provide a strong sports medicine foundation for residents considering a primary care sports medicine fellowship or future primary care practice with significant community sports and event coverage. Program Overview The focused experiences will help nourish the resident’s interest in developing the medical knowledge, clinical skills, attitudes, behaviors and leadership skills important for the practice of primary care sports medicine. The Sports Medicine Residency Track curriculum will include additional sports medicine elective experiences, event coverage, team physician responsibilities, scholarly activities, musculoskeletal ultrasound training, journal club/required readings, teaching at sports medicine workshops/didactics, attendance at sports medicine conferences and mentorship from fellowship-trained sports medicine faculty. The track positions the participating resident as a strong candidate for acceptance into a primary care sports medicine fellowship training program or prepares the interested resident to deliver high-quality musculoskeletal and sports medicine care in the community.
