As part of the only academic medical center in Orange County, the Division of Emergency General Surgery actively engages in research, which enables us to set the standard of care for our community. Our division participates in both residency and fellowship programs at UCI School of Medicine, working in close collaboration with the Division of Trauma to train the next generation of acute care surgeons.
Division faculty are fellowship-trained in managing acute and emergent surgical diseases and are always on call. Our emergency general surgery team surgically addresses the diverse range of clinical conditions that may require acute surgical intervention, employing cutting-edge methods in a multidisciplinary, compassionate and evidence-based approach. In addition, we offer elective robotic surgery to outpatients at the Tustin Surgery Clinic and provide complex wound care through the Wound Clinic at UCI Health.
Research
We're committed to innovation and invention. Our researchers are involved in investigative efforts that foster diversity, feature strong collaboration and move new treatments from the laboratory to the clinical setting.
Clinical Expertise
The Division of Emergency General Surgery uses minimally invasive, robotic and open surgical techniques to treat a wide spectrum of conditions.
