Meet Our Residents

Jiayi Liu

First-year physics resident Jiayi Liu is originally from Shanghai and received her undergraduate degree in physics from East China Normal University before pursuing graduate training leading to a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. While working at the New York Proton Center, Liu studied proton FLASH radiotherapy and developed an interest in patient treatment verification and quality assurance. Then, at City of Hope, she worked with online adaptive planning workflows. While at UCI, Liu plans to continue her studies in FLASH radiotherapy and novel treatment techniques using the cutting-edge technologies BrainLab and Ethos now available at UCI. In her free time, Liu enjoys snowboarding and traveling.

Many of our UCI Radiation Oncology Physics Residency graduates have gone into academic and community practice at desirable locations in California and throughout the country.
