Steven Seyedin, MD, assistant professor, spoke to the UCI School of Medicine about the rewards of being a radiation oncologist in his role as advisor to the oncology interest group at UCI. While radiation oncology has lost a bit of its competitiveness in recent years, Dr. Seyedin still thinks the specialty is one of the “hidden gems” in medicine.

“We have the privilege of taking care of cancer patients, finding better ways to do treatment, and develop lasting relationships — what else is more important in medicine?” said Seyedin.

He enthusiastically urges all students interested in radiation oncology to reach out to him for guidance anytime.
