We are thrilled to announce that UCI School of Medicine alumna, Kaosoluchi Enendu, MD, class of 2021, was recently chosen to receive the prestigious Trailblazer Award from the Nigerian Professional Group (NPG).

In 2017, Enendu was the originator and one of the co-founders of UCI’s PRIME LEAD-ABC (Leadership Education to Advance Diversity – African, Black and Caribbean) program for Black communities.

After graduating from UCI in 2021, Enendu received a residency in psychology at Yale University. She is being recognized with the Trailblazer award for her role in founding PRIME LEAD-ABC, and for her exceptional accomplishments as both a medical doctor and a leader who has tirelessly worked to address racial inequities experienced by medical students, residents and faculty.

At Yale School of Medicine, Enendu also serves as a medical fellow for Doximity, a leadership fellow for the American Psychiatric Association, an ambassador for the National Anti-racism in Medicine Curriculum Coalition and recent co-president of the Psychiatry Residents’ Association.

The NPG is dedicated to fostering a strong community, fostering interests of Nigerian professionals abroad, and promoting sustainable development in Nigeria. Their goals include cultivating innovative ideas through collaboration, empowering individuals by sharing career opportunities and scholarships, fostering a sense of community belonging, facilitating career progression for immigrants and promoting knowledge sharing through events and seminars.

She will receive her award at the NPG’s fourth annual gala on Dec. 7, 2024, in Boston. Congratulations Dr. Enendu!
