Explore Our Fellowship Programs Administration Fellowship The UCI Emergency Medicine Administration Fellowship aims to train physicians to prepare for administration positions within emergency departments or at the hospital level in academic or community settings. Administration Fellowship Clinical Informatics Fellowship (ACGME-Accredited) The UCI School of Medicine offers a two-year ACGME-accredited fellowship program open to all specialties, hosted by the Department of Emergency Medicine, which prepares the applicant for certification in the subspecialty of clinical informatics. Clinical Informatics Fellowship Multimedia Design Education Technology (MDEdTech) Fellowship (SAEM-Approved) The Multimedia Design Education Technology (MDEdTech) Fellowship is a novel, one-year fellowship for graduates with an interest in emerging technologies, education, multimedia design and social media. The goal is to create clinical educators who are nimble and engaged digital physicians, able to use novel technologies to better engage and educate learners in diverse learning environments. Multimedia Design Education Technology Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship UCI also offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship in conjunction with Children’s Health of Orange County. Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Point-of-Care Ultrasound Fellowship (EUFAC-Accredited) Since its inception in 2001, the UCI Point-of-Care Ultrasound Fellowship has graduated more than 40 emergency ultrasound fellows. These fellows have gone on to become leaders in point-of-care ultrasound throughout the United States. Our department currently has ten ultrasound machines that produce 250 scans per week. We also have four ultrasound-fellowship-trained faculty on staff. Ultrasounds are interpreted at the bedside and become part of the patient’s medical record. All images are uploaded to wireless servers for weekly review in educational quality assurance meetings. Point-of-Care Ultrasound Fellowship Research Fellowship in Population Health The UCI Department of Emergency Medicine Research Fellowship in Population Health is designed to train junior faculty investigators in the field of emergency medicine research and population health. The goal of the fellowship is to assist academic-minded emergency physicians in becoming funded clinical research scientists. Research Fellowship in Population Health Simulation Fellowship The UCI Emergency Medicine Simulation Fellowship is a one-year, mentored fellowship that offers advanced training in simulation teaching, curriculum design, educational program implementation, study design and research for a graduate of an accredited emergency medicine residency program. A two-year track is available for those applicants in pursuit of an advanced degree. Simulation Fellowship Wilderness Medicine Fellowship (WMS-Approved) The goal of the fellowship is to train physicians to prepare for medical emergencies in austere environments, manage the potential medical needs of a population entering into an austere environment, and both respond to and manage a broad array of emergencies that may occur in that environment. Our fellowship is accredited by SAEM and the WMS.
