Located in a diverse area of Orange County, California, the UCI Emergency Medicine Administration Fellowship trains physicians for administrative leadership roles within emergency departments or hospitals in academic or community settings.

This fellowship covers a broad range of emergency medicine administration topics, with opportunities for specialization. Graduates interested in improving patient care from a systems perspective, conducting research in ED operations or pursuing leadership roles at the departmental or hospital level will benefit from this program.

  • Understanding systems issues as a clinician and as an administrator
  • Building relationships with nursing staff and nursing leadership

  • Project management and process improvement
  • Develop an understanding of business models of emergency medicine
  • Be able to lead projects related to ED operational issues
  • Develop proficiency in monitoring key performance and quality indicators
  • Participate in a variety of operational and leadership meetings
