NINDS Faculty Development Award to Promote Diversity in Neuroscience Research (K01 Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed) (PAR-24-228) The purpose of the NINDS Faculty Development Award to Promote Diversity in Neuroscience Research (K01) is to enhance participation in the independent neuroscience research workforce by providing junior faculty from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in biomedical research, with research cost support, protected research time, and career stage-appropriate mentorship and professional development in neuroscience research. Individuals are eligible for support under this award if they are in the first 3 years of a faculty tenure track or equivalent position at the time of application. This notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is designed specifically for candidates proposing research that does not involve leading an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or an ancillary study to a clinical trial. Under this NOFO candidates are permitted to propose a research experience in a clinical trial led by a mentor or co-mentor. Those proposing a clinical trial or an ancillary study to an ongoing clinical trial as lead investigator, should apply to the companion NOFO (PAR-24-229).
