Conway, DO, and the Betty Sha family, have announced a $2 million donation to the development of the $1.3 billion UCI Health — Irvine medical campus. The late Dr. Conway was part of the class of 1962 at what was then known as the California College of Medicine, now UCI School of Medicine. Dr. Conway dedicated nearly four decades to his private family medicine practice in California before retiring in 1988. He donated nearly $200,000 to internal medicine education to the UCI School of Medicine and his other alma mater, Des Moines University. His daughter and attorney-in-fact, Betty Sha, guided his philanthropic efforts. In acknowledgement of this generous gift, the outdoor infusion center terrace at the new UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and Ambulatory Care building will be named the Nicholas R. Conway, DO, and 888 Betty L. Sha Foundation Infusion Terrace. This building is set to open in 2024. Read more about this gift to UCI Health.
