Founding Director of Train New Trainers Fellowships Program Named 2024 Steinberg Institute Champion Posted: 2024-06-13 Source: UCI School of Medicine News Type: Features & Briefs share Robert M. McCarron, DO, associate dean of Continuing Medical Education, and founder of UC Irvine School of Medicine's Train New Trainers (TNT) Fellowships program, was named a 2024 Steinberg Institute Champion for his work in expanding and optimizing California’s behavioral healthcare workforce and delivery. TNT fellowships are clinically practical, evidence-informed certification programs specifically designed to address the most frequently encountered medical/psychiatric conditions seen in the primary care setting. Over the past few years, TNT has gained significant momentum and now has fellows across the country and even overseas. Each May during Mental Health Awareness Month, the Steinberg Institute, an independent, nonprofit public policy institute, announces four California-based champions to honor their transformative work in mental health and substance use disorder.
