Susanna McColley, MD, is a distinguished pediatric pulmonologist with extensive experience in research, clinical practice and academia. She holds several prominent positions that reflect her expertise and contributions to the field. McColley's research focuses on improving health outcomes for individuals with cystic fibrosis. Her work spans identifying risk factors, enhancing screening and diagnostics, developing new treatments and addressing health disparities. Notably, she is an expert in newborn screening for the condition. She serves as Vice Chair of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Newborn Screening Consortium and a member of the European Cystic Fibrosis Society Newborn Screening Working Group, underscoring her significant impact in the field. McColley is deeply committed to training the next generation of child health researchers. She directs the NUCATS TL1 Multidisciplinary Training Program in Child Health and leads a summer research program for students from minority-serving institutions in Chicago.
