Why UCI? After being fortunate enough to do a sub-internship at UCI as an MS4, I was thrilled with the idea of doing my residency here. During my sub-internship, I returned home to Orange County and served a patient population I greatly enjoyed working with. All the faculty and residents were also incredibly kind and welcoming. The faculty were very accessible and willing to teach, and the residents also had a powerful camaraderie that I hoped to be part of. Given UCI is an academic center that serves as the de facto county hospital in Orange County, I knew the population would provide exceptional training to become a strong EM physician. Returning home to sunny SoCal was also a huge plus.
