NINDS Faculty Development Award to Promote Diversity in Neuroscience Research (K01 Independent Clinical Trial Required) (PAR-24-229)

The purpose of the NINDS Faculty Development Award to Promote Diversity in Neuroscience Research (K01) is to enhance participation  in the independent neuroscience research workforce by providing junior faculty from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in biomedical research, with research cost support, protected research time, and career stage-appropriate mentorship and professional development in neuroscience research. Individuals are eligible for support under this award if they are in the first 3 years of a faculty tenure track or equivalent position at the time of application.

This notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is designed specifically for candidates proposing to serve as the lead investigator of an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or a separate ancillary clinical trial, as part of their research and career development. Those not planning an independent clinical trial, or proposing to gain research experience in a clinical trial led by another investigator, must apply to companion NOFO (PAR-24-228).
