Home Research Research: Clinical Departments Pediatrics: Home Pediatrics: Education & Training Pediatrics: Education & Training > Fellowship Programs Pediatrics: Education & Training > Fellowship Programs > Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Training Outstanding Pediatric Hospitalists The UCI/CHOC Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship program trains fellows to become clinical experts in the care of hospitalized children, as well as academic leaders in the fields of quality improvement, research, advocacy and medical education. Program Overview Clinical Care Fellows complete eight months of clinical training, primarily rotating in units located at the CHOC Orange campus. Research Fellows are provided with a minimum of eight months of dedicated scholarly activity/research time to complete a scholarly project under the mentorship of a faculty member and pursue additional research activities. Individualized Curriculum Curriculum is tailored to each fellow’s specific interests and career goals, which can include additional research or clinical time. Unique Experiences Fellows have the unique opportunity to complete additional electives and rotations throughout the program to expand their leadership skills and clinical training in a wide range of pediatric hospitalist areas. Salary & Benefits Fellows are paid according to the university/hospital pay scale for trainees based on their post-graduate year.
