Our mission is to further research to enable discoveries and innovation for improved diagnostics and analytics and to enhance prevention, treatment and cures for patients. Home Research Office of Research Supporting Our Research Enterprise We strive for excellence in research by coordinating activities within the School of Medicine with those of the UC Irvine Office of Research to ensure our investigators operate in an arena where they have access to the latest technologies. We provide strong administrative support for our faculty members as they seek funding from federal agencies, industry, foundations and private philanthropy. We also provide our investigators with key facilities to support their research and offer support for clinical trials through the Center for Clinical Research, Stern Center for Cancer Clinical Trials, and the Alpha Stem Cell Clinic. Research Support & Development The Research Development Unit (RDU) designs and implements services and other resources to help investigators succeed in obtaining and maintaining extramural funding. This includes directing researchers to appropriate funding opportunities and support throughout the entire proposal development process. Explore RDU Programs Research Support Services Research Support Services (RSS) provides administrative support to faculty in the preparation and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, local government, foreign, non-profit and industry sponsors. RSS also provides assigned pre-award support for the majority of School of Medicine departments along with post-award compliance, oversight and case-by-case training for all School of Medicine departments. Support for clinical trials is offered through a variety of sources at UC Irvine School of Medicine based on the type of trial being conducted.
