MD/PhD student in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics, May Hui has been selected for the 2021 Dr. Lorna Carlin Scholar Award. The Dr. Lorna Carlin Scholar is selected based on academic excellence, scientific promise, scholarly and professional potential as well as community and university service. This award is intended to recognize the next generation of scientific leaders, and is given to an exceptional doctoral student who is conducting a translational research study.

Additional awards were made to two very impressive PhD student researchers each receiving a secondary prize. Elizabeth Hubbard from the Department of Physiology & Biophysics received the Dr. Lorna Carlin Outstanding Research Award and Anthony Raus from the Department of Physiology & Biophysics received Dr. Lorna Carlin Excellence in Research Award, both recognizing promising translational scholarship. Elizabeth is advised by Dr. Kevin Beier and Anthony is advised by Dr. Autumn Ivy.
