The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is dedicated to educating the next generation of exceptional clinicians. We offer training opportunities for a range of learners, from medical students to established physicians.


The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine offers a core course for second-year medical students, General and Systemic Pathology (598A-B), and elective clerkships.
MD Program Electives
Our four-year ACGME-accredited Pathology Residency program provides education and support for trainees to become expert diagnosticians dedicated to scholarly inquiry and clinical excellence, all in an inclusive, nurturing environment.
Residency Program
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine offers a range of non-ACGME and ACGME-accredited subspecialty fellowships, all of which prepare pathologists to lead, educate, advocate, discover, innovate and ultimately transform the field of pathology.
Fellowship Programs
The year-long post-baccalaureate certificate program in clinical laboratory science provides a learning environment in which students can acquire the academic knowledge, technical skills, professional behaviors and critical thinking necessary to become proficient medical technologists.
CLS Program
Our department offers a PhD program in biomedical sciences with a concentration in experimental pathology. This program emphasizes laboratory investigations to better understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms of human disease and their translation into novel diagnostics or potential therapies.
Graduate Program
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine offers ongoing educational programs, including Grand Rounds and an experimental pathology research conference series.
