Faculty members in the Molecular Pathology Laboratory perform DNA- and RNA-based molecular testing that supports patient care at UC Irvine Medical Center. The lab offers a wide range of molecular techniques, including, among others, quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR), multiplex PCR, reverse transcription PCR, genotyping, methylation analysis, capillary electrophoresis, microsatellite instability analysis and next-generation DNA sequencing.

Trainees will be involved:

  • Molecular oncology testing for solid and hematologic malignancies
  • Inherited disorder testing
  • Pharmacogenomic testing
