The UCI School of Medicine Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine offers comprehensive diagnostic, screening and consultative services in cytopathology, including examination of gynecologic, non-gynecologic and fine-needle aspiration (FNA) specimens.

The department has an outstanding quality assurance program that evaluates all current surgical pathology specimens with corresponding cytology specimens to enhance patient care. The FNA service includes samples collected from both superficial and deep nodules. Immediate adequacy assessment is performed as requested. 

Educational opportunities for the Cytopathology subspecialty include conferences, residency training and a cytopathology fellowship.
