The division provides individualized, family-oriented and medically advanced care for hospitalized patients. Hospitalists provide high-quality care while educating the next generation of physician leaders and working toward improved systems of care. Faculty members in the division provide clinical services at Children’s Health of Orange County (CHOC) Hospital Main Campus – Orange and CHOC at Mission Hospital. Around-the-Clock Care The hospitalists are based on-site and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week to hospitalized children. They work in collaboration with the patient, the family, the child’s pediatrician and specialty physicians to provide the best care possible. When the patient leaves the hospital, the pediatric hospitalist gives their primary care physician an overview of the child’s hospital stay and detailed instructions for any necessary further care. Our pediatric hospitalists care for children with a wide variety of illnesses and medical needs who require hospital care. Some common illnesses include asthma, serious infections, seizure disorder, respiratory diseases, immune problems and medically complex conditions. Our hospitalists embrace diversity of patients, staff and community and provide inclusive and exceptional care to all patients regardless of their backgrounds. They work toward ensuring equitable health access and eliminating health disparities.
