Our program, which has major affiliations with Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Long Beach, is one of only a handful of programs in the nation that gives residents access to two free-standing children’s hospitals. It also gives medical students the unique opportunity to interact with a wide range of professionals, including community physicians, basic and applied scientists and health policy administrators. This educational diversity attracts medical students seeking a wide range of pediatric careers, from primary care physicians to researchers in translational science. We proudly offer postdoctoral training programs, including fellowships in neonatal intensive care, hematology/oncology, critical care, neurology and many others. Going forward, we hope to add opportunities for advanced degrees, including master’s programs, further extending our educational reach. Residency We offer three, fully accredited residency training programs, which include one of the nation's largest general pediatrics residency programs, a combined pediatrics and child neurology residency program, and a medical genetics residency program. Residency Programs Fellowships Our six fellowship programs offer abundant educational, research and clinical training opportunities in various pediatric subspecialties, allowing pediatricians to advance their careers in private practice or academic medicine. Fellowship Programs Research We are home to internationally renowned researchers and receive numerous grants from the National Institutes of Health and other federal and industry sources to conduct impactful research aimed at advancing children's health and preventing and treating disease.
