Clinical Education, Training & Research

The division's faculty members are leaders in training current and future physicians to diagnose, treat and prevent infectious diseases effectively. Their dedication to research, supported by federal agencies and foundations, leads to groundbreaking discoveries that directly improve patient care.

We proudly house the only Orange County site for the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center, providing comprehensive instruction for healthcare professionals across Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, as well as Long Beach. Our annual conference, "HIV/AIDS on the Front Line," draws over 300 attendees from Southern California and beyond, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in the fight against infectious diseases.

Our faculty, including a growing group of transplant infectious disease specialists, combines experienced and newer clinicians. Our expertise in HIV, hospital-acquired infections, and infections in travelers and immigrants, as well as comprehensive treatments for these conditions, is well-established, ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.
