UC Irvine-led research team builds first tandem repeat expansions genetic reference maps

“The launch of the UCI Tandem Repeat Genome Aggregation Database provides the first-ever biobank-scale comprehensive reference maps for TR expansions, marking a critical milestone in advancing research into more than 50 lethal human diseases,” says the study’s co-corresponding author, Wei Li (left). He’s joined by co-corresponding author Ya Cui, Wenbin Ye and Jason Sheng Li.
