Who should I contact first when I need help writing and editing my proposal? Contact us at somrd@hs.uci.edu Who should I contact to help me manage the submission process? You will be assisted by the RSS, CCR or CFCCC. Read “Other UC Irvine Groups to Know” above to determine the correct unit. Can I submit an application myself? No. You need to coordinate with your assigned analyst, whether it be in your department, RSS, CCR, or CFCCC. Only Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) and Beall Applied Innovation have the institutional authority to submit proposals to sponsors. Can I search for funding opportunities myself? Yes! You can learn more on our Grant Support and Review Services page. How can I find other UC Irvine researchers in my area? Two complementary databases are UC Irvine Faculty Profiles and UC Irvine Research Profiles. Also, fill out the UCI SOM Research Collaboration Request Form so we can help you find collaborators. How is a Biosketch different than my CV? The Biosketch is a standardized format, used by NIH and other agencies. A unified Common Biographical Sketch and Common Current & Pending (Other) Support format is required using SciENcv. In SciENcv, you will need to create the NIH Biographical Sketch Common Form and the NIH Biographical Sketch Supplement. Instructions for the Biographical Sketch Common Form and NIH Biographical Sketch Supplement and FAQ Instructions for the Current and Pending (Other) Support Common Form and FAQ Reminder: Applicants are required to have an ORCID ID and link it with their eRA Commons profiles. Log in to eRA Commons to check that these are indeed linked. Otherwise, you will see an error message at the time of submission. The RDU has posted slides to walk you through the process.
