Dr. Daniela Bota leads research and clinical initiatives in neuro-oncology, focusing on developing innovative treatments for brain malignancies. Her work integrates advanced therapeutic approaches including stem cell-targeted treatments, immunotherapy, and medical devices to address critical challenges in brain tumor treatment. She is particularly recognized for pioneering new approaches to glioblastoma treatment and implementing novel clinical trials.
As Vice Dean for Clinical Research at the UCI School of Medicine and Director of the UC Irvine Alpha Clinic at the Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center, Dr. Bota has established herself as a leader in translational research. She oversees multiple clinical trials while maintaining an active role in patient care as Co-Director of UCI Health's Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program. Her expertise spans both primary and metastatic brain tumors, with a focus on developing personalized treatment approaches. Through bridging laboratory innovation with clinical application, particularly in glioblastoma stem-cell targeted chemotherapy and cellular immunotherapy, she continues to advance neuro-oncology while training the next generation of medical researchers and practitioners.
