Each clinic session begins with a brief didactic lecture (Moodle curriculum) on a general pediatric topic given by a resident or attending pediatrician. Residents then see a diverse mix of well-child and sick patients. There are seven unique continuity clinic sites for our residents, spanning the Los Angeles and Orange County area: CHOC Chapman Primary Care Clinic Located down the street from the CHOC campus, this site offers on-site radiology and laboratory services. CHOC Children’s Health Center, Garden Grove This site offers increased exposure to patients with a language other than English, specifically Vietnamese and Spanish. The clinic offers a small “private practice feel,” with Dr. Belinda Dao serving as the primary preceptor for our residents. Clinica CHOC Para Niños & CHOC Clinic Santa Ana at the Boys & Girls Club These members of the CHOC Primary Care Network are located in the heart of Santa Ana and serve families and patients from an underserved area with Spanish as their preferred language. The clinics have a wonderful community feel. The Children’s Clinic at Miller Children’s & Women's Hospital Long Beach This clinic is located on the Miller Children’s Hospital campus in Long Beach. Many patients are referred here from the hospital itself, including patients with chronic long-term medical conditions. More than 40,000 patients per year are served. Long Beach is one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse big cities in America, as recognized by the U.S. Census, including the largest concentration of Cambodians of any city outside of Cambodia.
