Each clinic session begins with a brief didactic lecture (Moodle curriculum) on a general pediatric topic given by a resident or attending pediatrician. Residents then see a diverse mix of well-child and sick patients. CHOC Chapman Primary Care Clinic Conveniently located near the main hospital, the Orange Primary Care “Chapman” Clinic stands as the flagship of CHOC’s community clinics, delivering care to a diverse patient population. As the largest facility in the network, the clinic staffs an experienced team of physicians and a supportive two attendings to four residents ratio in every continuity clinic. Residents benefit from comprehensive on-site resources, including social work, case management and psychology services, empowering them to address a wide spectrum of pediatric needs, from routine check-ups to the most complex medical and social challenges. All residents will be rotating at the Chapman clinic during their CARE2 (CHOC Ambulatory Residency Education Experience) rotation as a PGY-1 and PGY-3. CHOC Children’s Health Center, Garden Grove Discover your inner general pediatrician at the CHOC Garden Grove Clinic! Our primary care pediatric clinic offers a high-volume, high-impact training experience in a small but busy community clinic setting. You’ll master the art of being a thorough general pediatrician by caring for a wonderfully diverse patient population, including those who speak Spanish and Vietnamese. The continuity clinic attendings at Garden Grove are dedicated to teaching a whole-person care approach, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with on-site psychology, social work, case management and a community health worker to provide comprehensive care to all our patients. CHOC Clínica Para Niños The CHOC Clínica Para Niños, part of the CHOC Medical Group (CMG), is a medium-sized clinic situated in the heart of Santa Ana. Attendings, staff and residents collaborate to provide comprehensive care for the community’s children, offering onsite psychology, case management, and social work services to address complex health and social challenges. The patient population primarily speaks English or Spanish and often faces limited resources. During each half-day session, two residents are paired with one attending, allowing residents to develop foundational skills in primary care pediatrics while gaining insight into the impact of social determinants on health. CHOC Clinic Santa Ana at the Boys & Girls Club The CHOC Clinic at the Boys & Girls Club in Santa Ana is the smallest of the CHOC Medical Group (CMG) clinics, but has the biggest heart. Located in the middle of Santa Ana since 2000, it is nestled in a residential area. If you want to experience a clinic that truly serves its community, you'll love the CHOC Clinic at the Boys & Girls Club. You will receive one-on-one attention from your attending, ensuring personalized care. You'll learn the "bread and butter" of general pediatrics in a FUN and CARING environment! UC Irvine Family Health Center Anaheim In Anaheim, this new pediatric clinic features a modern, thoughtfully designed space that enhances both patient comfort and care delivery, and is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care for children from the newborn stage through adolescence. Designed with families in mind, it offers comprehensive services, including case management and access to a social worker, ensuring patients receive both medical and social support tailored to their needs. The clinic is deeply committed to serving underserved communities, focusing on predominantly Spanish-speaking families and providing culturally responsive care that fosters trust and accessibility. It is also an excellent training environment for residents pursuing careers in primary care, offering meaningful, hands-on experience in community-focused pediatrics. In addition to its clinical mission, the site serves as a teaching environment where medical students gain valuable exposure to caring for diverse populations, preparing them to become thoughtful, community-oriented physicians.
