The Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology is home to dedicated faculty members who contribute to the education of the next generation of OB/GYN providers, advancing the field through cutting-edge research and caring for patients in Orange County.

The Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology is committed to fostering innovation in the field of obstetrics and gynecology by conducting cutting-edge research focused on a diverse array of conditions, including abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids and endometriosis.

Currently, we participate with the University of California Fibroid Research Network and other institutions around the country in COMPARE-UF, a project that assesses patient outcomes after surgical interventions for symptomatic uterine fibroids.

We are also active in a new study involving the use of a novel GnRH antagonist for treatment of endometriosis.

Finally, we support our colleagues in the Maternal Fetal Division by assisting in the recruitment of obstetric patients for various projects.

Education

The Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology faculty members directly supervise and teach resident physicians and medical students in the clinical setting at the Family Health Centers in Anaheim and Santa Ana.

Our faculty also participates in community lectures and Grand Rounds on various topics. All of our faculty belong to the UC Irvine Speakers Bureau and lecture within the community.

 

Clinical Expertise

UC Irvine remains one of Orange County’s leading centers for minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Our highly trained, skilled and compassionate gynecologic surgeons hold expertise in advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques to evaluate and treat a range of conditions, including abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and endometriosis. We also perform a variety of fertility-sparing procedures.
