Under the leadership of Charles Limoli, MD, the Department of Radiation Oncology continues to investigate the potential promise of ultra-high-dose-rate radiation (“FLASH”) to overcome tumor resistance and eliminate side effects. UCI is home to the only P01 multi-institutional grant awarded by the National Institute of Health to study FLASH and has developed collaborations around the world to advance this science.
