These fellowships are at the Health Sciences Clinical Instructor level (ACGME-approved fellows are considered PGY-6), based at the UC Irvine Medical Center, and fellows will receive benefits and privileges through the UC Irvine School of Medicine. Department Fellowships We offer fellowships in the following specialties: Abdominal Imaging One-year fellowship emphasizing cross-sectional abdominal imaging and coordinated experience in CT, Ultrasound, MRI and image-guided procedures. Breast Imaging One-year comprehensive training program in all modalities of breast imaging, including screening and diagnostic interpretation, 2D and tomosynthesis mammography, sonography and MRI. Cardiovascular and Thoracic Imaging One-year fellowship providing comprehensive training in cardiothoracic imaging using radiography, CT, CTA, MRI and MRA. Diagnostic Neuroradiology One-year ACGME-approved fellowship providing training in interpreting studies of brain, spine, and head and neck disorders. Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention Comprehensive one-year program providing a strong educational experience in all facets of diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal radiology. Musculoskeletal Radiology at Tibor Rubin Long Beach VA Medical Center One-year fellowship providing experience in image-guided interventional orthopaedic procedures, including arthrography, joint aspiration, soft tissue, and bone biopsy techniques and orthopaedic pain management procedures (fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided steroid and anesthetic injections). Oncological Imaging *New* Comprehensive, two-year non-ACGME fellowship program consisting of training in abdominal imaging, cardiovascular and thoracic imaging, nuclear medicine PET imaging, and oncologic staging and follow-up imaging. We believe that we provide an optimal combination of study volume, procedure volume, experience with sequencing/protocoling, academic time and optional research time to produce knowledgeable, balanced radiologists with cutting-edge knowledge of their subspecialties.
