MS-BATS About Us MS-BATS: Teaching Faculty & Mentors Admissions Curriculum Frequently Asked Questions Admissions Home Education MS-BATS: Admissions Admissions Information The MS-BATS admissions committee will evaluate applicants to the program on the basis of grades, previous course work, letters of recommendation and other relevant qualifications, such as years of experience working in a clinical setting. The GRE is not a requirement for the program. All graduate students, including those from public health, nursing science and pharmaceutical science are eligible to apply, but the program has a highly clinical focus and is specifically designed for those with a sufficient background in clinical sciences. Applicants should have successfully completed a BS degree or equivalent, and may be current medical students, residents, clinical fellows, faculty or licensed physicians in the community. Applying to UC Irvine Deadlines Applications are now closed for the 2026-2027 cycle. The application portal will reopen on October 1st 2026 for the next cycle. Please upload the completed application and all required documents in UC Irvine's Online Application portal. Admissions notifications will be made on a rolling basis. For financial aid assistance, visit the following resources: UC Irvine Financial Aid and Scholarships California Student Aid Commission Clinical Research Program MS-BATS offers a bridge program with the Clinical Research Certificate program offered by UC Irvine’s Division of Continuing Education. The Certificate program carries full graduate course credit and includes four core MS-BATS courses. These courses are transferable towards the MS-BATS degree. It is still necessary for the student to maintain full-time enrollment in the MS-BATS degree program for three quarters of the academic year in which they enroll.
