Our board-certified and fellowship-trained obstetric anesthesiologists specialize in the delivery and management of anesthesia care for a diverse range of obstetric procedures, including labor and delivery, cesarean sections, postpartum procedures, as well as routine and high-risk obstetric and gynecologic surgeries.

The obstetric anesthesiology division collaborates with UC Irvine maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) obstetricians and neonatologists to provide consultation services and integrated management plans for complex obstetric cases.

Our clinical training and practice routinely involve the anesthetic management of obstetric patients who present high-risk conditions such as severe prematurity, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, labile diabetes mellitus, placenta accreta, and maternal and fetal cardiac problems.

Our obstetric anesthesiology faculty and trainees complete their clinical duties at UCI Medical Center. UCI Medical Center provides comprehensive care for expectant mothers and their newborns and is Orange County's only regional perinatal and neonatal center, fully equipped with the technology and specialists to manage care for high-risk pregnancies and at-risk fetuses and neonates in one facility.
