Congratulations to Jasmine Chavez, a graduate student in the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology, who received the 2025 Honoring Outstanding Progress in Epilepsy (HOPE) Research Award for her exemplary research on identifying sex differences in learning, sociability and synaptic plasticity. Additionally, Chavez is researching an early-life oxytocin treatment for seizures in a mouse model of autism.

The HOPE Research Award, presented by the UC Irvine Epilepsy Research Center, recognizes theĀ achievements and potential of exceptional traineesĀ in epilepsy research.
