Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art, high-quality plastic surgery care, education and research in an environment that promotes and nurtures the best academic, clinical and ethical growth for its trainees and students. Our faculty are highly skilled, both clinically and academically. They cover the full range of plastic surgery, from cancer and burns to pediatrics and craniofacial surgery to hand, trauma and aesthetic surgery. Faculty and staff are committed to serving patients and the community and advancing knowledge and treatments in the field of plastic surgery. Our residency education program is designed to train the plastic surgeons of tomorrow. Currently with 24 trainees and three fellows (Breast, Aesthetics and Microsurgery), we are the largest and only training program in Orange County. Our goal is to ensure that our trainees complete their certification with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, enabling them to practice independent, safe patient care. It is our desire for each of them to contribute back to the specialty that has provided so much for them. The expansion of our new hospital system enables the department to expand our clinical footprint to a variety of locations throughout Orange County. This enables patients to see us in more convenient locations, avoiding long drives and traffic. The expansion also allows for committed health care professionals, new operating rooms and a new all-electric inpatient facility. Our research continues to focus on scarring and how we might correct this overactive healing process using stem cells and fat. Our laboratory remains productive, receiving $29,000 in funding in 2025. The department also celebrated another endowed chair, Zein and Samar Obagi Skin Health. Treating the entire patient and focusing on skin health provides the best outcomes for remaining youthful and productive. Come visit our website.
