Scientists Discover A Hidden Cause of Brain Bleeding
People with high blood pressure, stroke, or neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease are known to have a higher risk of small brain bleeds. A recent study led by Dr. Mark Fisher and Dr. Xiangmin Xu at UC Irvine School of Medicine discovered that aging red blood cells may contribute directly to the formation of these small brain hemorrhages.
