The Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) was awarded Accreditation with Commendation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Commendation is the ACCME’s highest designation awarded, with only approximately 30% of accredited CME providers achieving this accreditation level. In addition, this grants a six-year accreditation term, instead of the standard four years.

ACCME Accreditation - 2024

The CME accreditation award follows an arduous 13-month process that included a self-study report outlining how our organization accomplishes its CME mission, performance-in-practice review to evaluate activity compliance, accreditation interview, review by ACCME volunteer surveyors, review by the ACCME Accreditation Review Committee (ARC), and finally a decision from the ACCME Board of Directors.

This designation enhances UCI’s reputation for delivering quality education that is relevant for our practitioners and responsive to the needs of our community.
