UCI School of Medicine received its most recent full eight-year reaccreditation in 2017. News & Events: 20th Anniversary Celebration of PRIME-LC On October 18, 2024, the School of Medicine celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Program in Medical Education for the Latino Community (PRIME-LC), a five-year, dual-degree mission-based program designed to graduate leaders and physician-activists who will work in underserved Latino communities. The program has graduated 172 students since its inception and has served as a model for other medical schools to follow. This celebration was attended by distinguished guests including many PRIME-LC alumni; Steve Goldstein, UCI vice chancellor for health affairs; University of California President Michael V. Drake; Dean Michael Stamos; Xavier Becerra, secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and Diana Ramos, California’s surgeon general.
