First in the Nation in Student Publications

According to a report in the Journal Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, UCI School of Medicine was first in the nation in otolaryngology publications with a medical student as lead author. The study, published in February of 2024, looked at otolaryngology publications between 2016–21 and UCI students came up on top with an impressive 107 first author publications. We are proud of the prolific work of our academic physicians, each of whom are committed to both improving patient care and creating opportunities for our trainees!
